The Custom Content functionality in BizLibrary offers a powerful way to centralize all of your proprietary, organization-specific learning materials alongside the award-winning BizLibrary course catalog. This feature allows administrators to easily and securely upload, manage, and assign a variety of content types, including videos, documents (PDF, Word), custom SCORM packages, and external links, without needing technical expertise. You can use your custom content to address unique internal processes, company-specific compliance needs, onboarding procedures, and organizational policies. Once uploaded, your proprietary materials can be assigned just like any other course, tracked in reports, and incorporated into personalized Learning Paths, ensuring all employee training is delivered and managed within one integrated platform.

Acceptable Custom Content Formats
BizLMS accepts many different types of learning content. Please review the following guide for a list of each type of content upload that is available in the system and its accepted file types. Uploads must be 1GB or less.
Uploading Custom AICC and SCORM Content
An administrator can upload and create multiple kinds of custom content, including SCORM or AICC courses. These courses are created outside of the system with a third-party authoring tool and then can be uploaded into BizLMS.
To upload a course:
- Select Administration from the main menu
- Select Learning and then Libraries from the sidebar menu
- Click on the title of your custom content library
- From the library page, select Actions then Add Content
- Select AICC eLearning or SCORM eLearning as the content type.
- Browse your computer and locate the course package, which should be a zip file.
- A progress bar will indicate that the file is being processed
- After the files is finished processing, you will be taken directly to the new content profile
Please note, BizLMS supports file sizes of under 1GB. Administrators should also take care when naming files, avoiding spaces, punctuation, and special characters. If you would like to keep spacing in the file name (for readability), try replacing the spaces in file names with an underscore.
Helpful Tip: Each course can be uploaded individually (a single zip file) or in bulk (a zip file containing multiple zip files). Whichever you choose, the total size should remain under 1GB. Learn more about bulk uploading of courses here.

Adding Weblinks as Custom Content
Administrators can easily create a web resource within the system. This means they can link to external sites using a URL in the LMS and assign or make that content available to learners. This can include: a YouTube video, another training site, SharePoint video, etc. To create a web resource, please follow the steps below.
- Select Administration from the main menu dropdown
- Select Learning then Libraries from the sidebar menu on the left
- Select your custom library
- Click on the Actions drop down at the top right and then Add Content
- Select Link as the content type
- Paste the complete URL into the Link URL field
- Enter the Content Title, duration, and description
- Select Can Quick Complete if the learner should be able to mark the course as complete on their own
- Click Add to Library to finalize the process
Adding Documents as Custom Content
Administrators can upload multiple types of documents into the system in order to assign or make available to learners. The different kinds include: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and PDF. With each type of document, the steps to upload remain the same.
How to upload a custom document:
- Select Administration from the main menu dropdown

- Select your custom library

- Admin Complete: Only an admin can mark the course as complete
Bulk Uploading Custom Content
There are several places throughout the system where content can be added, including custom libraries, from the administrator dashboard, and data services. From many of these locations, administrators can choose to upload files as individual content items or upload files in bulk.
To use bulk imports, start by determining what type of content you would like to create. The system supports uploading AICC, SCORM, or documents in bulk. Once you’ve determined what type of content you wish to upload, group that content into one folder.
Once content is grouped together, zip all files into one zip file. Please note that all files included in the zip file must be available at the root level of the folder in order for your upload to process successfully.
For example, a zipped folder full of SCORM courses can look like this:
To update course metadata in bulk, see the related article on Modifying or Retiring Content in Bulk
Helpful Tip: The max file size supported for individual content uploads and bulk uploads is 1 GB.
