Resetting Quiz Attempts

Whether a learner needs a fresh start due to a failed attempt or a course needs to be retaken, there are three primary ways to reset quiz progress within the platform. Depending on whether you want to remove specific data or perform a "hard reset" on the course status, follow the steps below.

Deleting Individual Attempts

Use this method if you want to remove a specific quiz entry while keeping the learner’s overall course enrollment active. This is ideal for clearing a "failed" status so the learner can try again.

  1. Navigate to the Course Profile.

  2. Select the Quiz tab.

  3. Click on the Analytics sub-tab.

  4. Use the search/filter tools to locate the specific Learner.

  5. Locate the attempt you wish to remove and click the Red Trashcan Icon next to it.

    Note: Deleting an attempt is permanent and will remove the associated score from the learner's records.

Resetting via Course Status (Reassigning)

This method "re-arms" the course for the learner by moving their status back to "Available." This is a clean way to reset the entire course requirement for an individual.

  1. Navigate to the Course Profile.

  2. Select the Status tab.

  3. Filter for the specific Learner.

  4. Check the box next to the learner’s name.

  5. Click the Modify button.

  6. Change the status to Available.

  7. Click Save.

Note, the course status can also be reset from the Team Profile or the Learner Profile by going to the Status tab and adjusting the status to "Available" for the learner. 

Resetting within a Learning Initiative 

If the course is part of a larger Learning Initiative, you should manage the status from the LI profile to ensure the curriculum logic remains intact.

  1. Navigate to the LI Profile.

  2. Select the Status tab.

  3. Flip the view toggle to Detail.

  4. Filter for the Learner and apply the filter.

  5. Locate the specific course within the list and check the box next to it.

  6. Click Modify.

  7. Set the status back to Available.

  8. Click Save.

Additionally, administrators can reassign a Learning Initiative and by checking the box to reset the status upon assignment, quiz attempt limits will be reset. If the checkbox to reset the course status is not selected, the quiz attempts will not be reset.
