To bulk upload custom content (like SCORM or AICC packages) into BizLMS using Data Services, you must perform a two-step process: uploading the physical zip package and registering the course metadata via Data Services.
Prerequisite: Extract and Validate the Zip File
Check the file structure before proceeding.
- If you have a single master zip file containing multiple SCORM/AICC packages, unzip the master file so each course is its own individual .zip file.
- Ensure the individual course zip packages meet BizLMS requirements (maximum package upload size is 1 GB).
Step 1 of 4: Upload Content Packages to Custom Content
Navigate to Administration > Custom Content > Upload Content.
- Choose Upload.
- Upload the zip file containing all course packages (or select all individual course zip files).
- Allow the platform to process and extract the course packages. Once completed, the files will be stored in your Custom Content library.
Step 2 of 4: Generate the Content Export Template
Navigate to Administration > System > Data Services > Export.
- Select Export Type: Choose Content.
- Select your Custom Library target and click Continue.
- BizLibrary will email you the official CSV/Excel template containing the exact structural columns for your custom library.
Step 3 of 4: Populate Course Metadata
Open the downloaded spreadsheet and fill in the details for the uploaded courses:
- Fill in mandatory fields such as Title, Description, Duration, Tags, and Target Audience.
- Link the exact folder paths or unique course identifiers generated from your Step 1 package upload.
- Important: Do not delete, rename, or reorder any columns in the template, as this will break the import parser. Save as a standard .csv or .xlsx file.
Step 4 of 4: Run the Data Services Import
Return to Administration > System > Data Services > Import.
- Set Import Type to Content.
- Select your Custom Library target.
- Browse for your populated metadata spreadsheet and click Upload.
