The qualifications feature adds more flexibility for administrators needing to track specific qualifications a learner has achieved for their job role or position. A lot of organizations require their learners within a certain job role to acquire professional certifications or credentials to supply qualifications to a job.
Qualifications should not be confused with the Learning Initiatives feature within our platform. We do offer Learning Initiatives as a structured learning path for content that tracks status on content completions and allows expiration and renewal options. Learning for a qualification does not have to be assigned or completed within our platform.
To add a qualification:
- Select Administration
- Select Learning
- Select Qualifications
- Select New Qualification
Once an administrator creates a qualification, they are able to provide that to a learner. They will also be able to add a qualification date (date they were qualified on) and an expiration date (when they are no longer qualified).
An administrator has the ability to edit the qualification, if needed. If a learner needs to be requalified (ex. Annual training), an administrator can choose to create a new certification so that historical qualifications are maintained in the learner's record, or they may choose to update the dates to only address current active qualifications.
After an administrator has given their learner(s) a qualification, they will be able to view all qualifications a team has. Using qualifications with the same name will allow an administrator to see an aggregate report for that team. To do this, an administrator will go back to the qualifications profile, then the activity sub-tab to view all of the learners' qualifications.
An administrator will also have the ability to download a list (.CSV) of qualifications.. On the export, the admin will see information like learner name, qualification name, status, qualification date, and expiration date. The download will also be customized to whatever is filtered.
Helpful Tip: Did you know that you can associate a Qualification with your Learning Initiatives? Doing so will award Learners who complete the Learning Initiative training with the desired Qualification. Check out our article here on how to set up this functionality!
