Signing up for a Virtual Classroom
There are two ways you can enroll in a virtual classroom.
- First, an administrator can add you to the roster of the virtual classroom session. This means you have been enrolled by an administrator and no further action is required.
- You can also register for a classroom event. From the main menu, navigate to the Classroom page or the Browse Library page (and filter for the classroom format). Clicking on a classroom event will take you to the Classroom Content Event Profile page, which will allow you to register or withdraw from the classroom.
Joining a Virtual Classroom
When it is time for a virtual classroom session to begin, you will join by navigating to the Classroom Profile > Session page. Click the Join Classroom button to be directed into the virtual session.
Your instructors will be responsible for launching the virtual session. If the Join Classroom button is greyed out, that means the session hasn’t been started by the instructor yet. Here are a few other details to keep in mind:
- Once you join the virtual session, you will land on a gallery view of the instructors and attendees.
- You will be able to click on a single video feed for a more focused view of the presenter.
- Instructors will always be the first video feeds, with your video to the right of the instructors.
- In the top right is a chat where you can ask/answer questions and share information.
- Virtual Classroom sessions allow up to 25 camera feeds to be activated at one time. If somebody tries to activate their camera and is the 26th person, they will be unable to do so.
- Sessions can hold up to 250 attendees at once, just 25 video feeds can be activated at one time.
