In this article, you will find helpful questions and answers about using Data Services. For any additional information, please reach out to your BizLibrary Client Success Manager.
Can I modify the import document outside of the informational fields?
No. Modifying the import template in any way (removing rows or columns, rearranging rows or columns, renaming headers, etc.) will result in an unsuccessful import.
Where can I find the import template?
You can find the up-to-date version of the import template within the Data Services import modal. To see the most recent template version, log into the system and go to Administration > System > Data Services > Import. Select the import type you wish to use and download the template.
When can I expect my import to finish processing?
After the file is imported, the results will show either within the hour or during BizLibrary's manual import trigger, depending on the number of rows to process. For imports greater than 5,000 rows, imports are put into a queue and begin processing around 12:00 PM CT. For imports with less than 5,000 rows, the latest they will process is at the top of the hour.
Where can I check the status of my import?
To view the status of your imports, you can check the imports results table within Data Services. Once completed, a Download button will populate within the table, allowing you to download details on what information was added and specific results for each imported row of data.
My import encountered errors. How do I know what the errors mean?
The downloadable results will provide additional details for which rows were successful, and which were not. Please review any rows flagged with errors. If you are still unsure as to why the import failed, please reach out to BizLibrary's Support Team at support@bizlibrary.com.
What should I do if my import was unsuccessful?
If you have found your import to be unsuccessful, please review the following troubleshoot tips for additional support.
- Ensure you are using the most recent import template. To see the most recent template version, log into the system and go to Administration > System > Data Services > Import. Select the import type you wish to use and download the template.
- Confirm the minimum required fields are filled out. If you are unsure which fields are required for your import, please reach out to BizLibrary's Support Team at support@bizlibrary.com.
- Review your import and ensure there are no missing field entries. When copying and pasting between documents and files, it is easy to overlook an empty field. Please ensure there are no empty fields that are required to process.
How long does BizLibrary store my import results?
BizLMS retains import information for the past 60 days.
Are any messages triggered by imports?
Messages can be triggered by an import, depending on the type of scheduled messages you’ve created. For example, if you have a scheduled message created to send out a notification when content has been assigned to a learner, and you have imported new learner assignments, messages will be triggered for those newly added assignments.
