To help drive utilization and to create a fun and friendly training competition, administrators can develop games that will allow them to track learners’ engagement based on numerous activities. Administrators can set up games that will grant learners points for activities like logging into the system, completing content, leaving a comment or rating, and more. These points accumulate towards game levels, awarding learners with badges as they progress.
How to set up a game:
- Select Administration from the main menu
- From the sidebar menu, click Learning followed by Games
- Select New Game
- In the first section, fill out the new Game Information
- Please note, that Title, Start Date, and End Date are required fields
- Determine the Players and Content
- Check the box next to team you would like to participate in the game
- Select which Library or Playlist to include in the game (note, learners will only receive points for completing content within the selected library or playlist)
- Identify how your learners will receive points under Levels and Scoring
- Under Scoring check the box(es) next to each activity you want scored and enter the point value in each field on the right-hand side
- Under Levels enter the title, description, point requirement, badge icon, and icon color for each of your levels
- Be sure to provide your learners with instructions for how they can get points and the overall rules of your game under the Rules section
- Lastly, review your game configuration and click Create Game to finish setting up your game
Helpful Tip: The only settings within a game that can be changed after being launched are its levels. Before launching your game, be sure to review its configurations!
Helpful Tip: Games that are in progress cannot be deleted; you can only delete a game once it has been completed or if it has not yet started.
