Administrators can easily replace or swap content within Assignments, Learning Initiatives, and Featured Playlists using the Check Usage feature on the Content Profile page. Review the following steps to learn how to easily replace or swap content. This is often handy when content being used in assignments in retired or replaced with new versions.
Before we begin, we recommend updating the outdated course in all active Assignments, Learning Initiatives, and Featured Playlists at the same time to prevent overlooked retirements.
- Select Administration from the main menu
- Select Learning then Curriculum Builder from the sidebar menu
- Once you are in Curriculum Builder, search for the course you wish to replace
- Click on the title of the content item to review course information
- You can see the description, thumbnail, replacement titles, and more
- If a replacement title is listed and you would like to swap for it, click View Profile
- On the Content profile, select Actions, then Check Usage
- A modal will open, providing you with a list of all assignments, learning initiatives, and featured playlists that include the content
- To replace content, select Replace
- This will take you to a three-step process replace content
- For Assignments, you can choose to reassign and inherit the existing due date or give learners a new due date
- For Learning Initiatives, pick and choose which you would like to replace the content in
- For Featured Playlists, pick and choose which you would like to replace the content in
- Next, choose what content you would like to replace it with
- Note, if there are suggested alternatives, they will be listed here
- Lastly, review your changes and when satisfied, click Save
Helpful tip: The Check Usage feature is available on all Content Profile pages. Content does not need to be retiring in order for you to use it to replace or swap content.
